Is it organic?

There is an organic version of Jomeis Sweet Balsamic Reduction, blending organic balsamic vinegar sourced from Moderna, Italy with organic coconut sugar to create this exquisite and precious nectar.

Due to its more natural manufacturing process, coconut sugar contains inulin fibre which slows glucose absorption, making it lower GI.  It also contains minerals such as Iron, Zinc, Calcium and Potassium.

What is balsamic anyway?

Authentic balsamic vinegar is only made in two places, both in Italy - Modena and neighbouring Reggio Emilia - from a reduction of pressed Trebbiano and Lambrusco grapes that is then aged in wooden barrels for a minimum of 12 years.

Balsamic vinegar has a rich history, treasured and enjoyed from its early creation. The first historical reference to balsamic vinegar dates back to 1046, where a bottle was reportedly given to Emperor Enrico III as a gift. It developed a reputation as a miracle cure, good for everything from sore throats to labour pains or as a remedy for the plague. New barrels were started at the birth of a child and given away at weddings. Families would cherish their reserve, passing it down through generations and giving away century-old vinegars as important gifts.

How was Jomeis Sweet Balsamic Reduction invented?

In 2002 Martin, a Chinese Medicine professional, developed Australia's very first Sweet Balsamic reduction as a natural condiment for his patients to incorporate into their wholefood meal plans.

Vinegar has long been known to improve digestion, however many patients found it too acidic, so using his herbal medicine knowledge he decided to reduce it & make it sweeter, & more palatable. It was enjoyed so much that the Sweet Balsamic Reduction was created under the Jomeis Fine Foods brand.
